Pierless Adventures - March 13 - Sunday Shopping

Nice cool morning.  We had a spartan breakfast (bought a few items at a nearby store last night). The cereal was rancid...

I rode the bus to the tourist zone this morning where there is an international cash machine.  Picked up 400 pesos for transportation (about $20).

We walked to the nearby hardware store to price extension ladders.   The deck of Pierless is about 10 feet off the ground, so a ladder is important...  I am still hoping to borrow or rent one in the boat yard, but  won't be able to sort that until Monday.  If we have to buy one, maybe we can sell it to the yard at a discount.  We'll see.

We hoped to take a bus from the hardware store to the mall, but fewer buses run on Sunday, so we walked.  I bought time for my MX phone so now I have a functional local phone.  I use it as a hot spot for my wifi connection (using via my laptop to write this blog).  Dropped by the Starbucks for a coffee too.

Next was Sam's Club and Walmart.  They are the only shopping options near the boat (other than 7-11 type shops).  Picked up food for the week and a few other odds and ends.  Took a taxi back to the boat since it was too much to carry back on foot.

Also got ice for the fridge.  It won't be running until we have  the boat in the water, so ice for now.

Forgot to buy a hose to wash the boat down with, so hiked back to Walmart in the evening.  Long day...
