Pierless Adventures - April 19 - Cabo at Last!

We motor sailed most of the night and into the morning.  We saw more dolphins, flying fish and birds.  A booby landed on the boat in the evening and stayed aboard until morning.

We picked a path to take us closer to shore in order to get cell coverage.  We wanted to let folks know we were a day late getting in, but doing fine.  I think we were able to get connections sometime in the morning.

There were many whales splashing and breaching on the last 20-30 miles to Cabo.  Dolphins too.  It was a noisy ride with the motor, but we were making good progress.

As we neared Cabo, the boat traffic increased tremendously.  After three days of mostly open ocean and nobody around, it began to feel crowded.  Many of the boats were excursions, either to see whales or go diving.

The winds were building as we approached the harbor, but still on the nose.  We motor sailed and tacked our way in.  The harbor is fairly small, but it had two giant cruise ships packed in next to the marina.  Getting into the marina was interesting.  A very narrow entrance and LOTS of traffic.  We found our slip without any problem and tied up for the night.

Registration for the marina went well.  I also went up to the harbor master to do paperwork with them, but did not have the crew passports, so will do that on Wednesday.  The marina folks said I would not need their passports, so I did not take them.  Probably a communication issue since I also have to go to the immigration office and it turned out they did not need to see anyone else's passport...

We had dinner, took showers and made a ToDo list for Wednesday.  We needed to sort out a few problems and look for some parts, so will stay here two nights, leaving on Thursday morning around sunrise.
