March 20-22, 2023 - Making Progress

Monday was a holiday here.  Benito Juarez's birthday.  He was the 26th president of Mexico, serving from 1858 until his death in 1872.  He was the first indigenous head of state in the postcolonial Americas.  Lots of partying and music.

I planned to go shopping for food on Tuesday,  but just walked to the local XOXO for bread and milk - it was getting too warm out..  I'll go Thursday instead.

The leaky portlight above the chart table is repaired.   This took more time than expected as there was a lot of old caulk to clean up.  I intended to replace the pane with a new one, but the ones I have are just a littletoo large...  I'll test it for leaks tomorrow, but it looks good.

Both water tank leaks have been repaired.  The main tank took two tries, but I think I made a good seal using silicone.  I tried a gasket, but the fitting was too uneven, the cailk looks good.  I'll pressure test tomorrow after it cures.  Finishing the tank repairs is a bit of a milestone as I will now be able to put the main cabin back together and recapture some semblance of order!

I unboxed the radar antenna to prep it for installation.  I hope to have it on this weekend.  It will be a little tricky since the bot is in the water.  I'll have to be careful not to drop anything...

I did not tackle the stove today.  I'll give that a shot tomorrow after my morning coffee.

Richard left the marina today.  He is heading south for a couple of weeks to check out Banderis Bay and Puerto Vallarta.  He plans to head to Hawaii after.  Hopefully we will cross paths again.  I did get his phone number this time.

Off to the showers...
