March 24-25, 2023 - Projects, Pillage and Procurement

I have fallen a little behind on my project schedule.  Dealing with the bugs set me back some, along with the challenge of motivating myself when here on my own.  I am determined to make up for lost time!

My neighbors on pier 4, a Swedish-Canadian couple, have been prepairing their boat for cruising for the past 5 years (makes me feel better...).  They are getting rid of things and gave me some marine plywood (which I have already used), a new Highfield Lever (used to set up my inner forestay), bins for organizing clothes and other items.  I'll be doing the same soon.

I made my second trip to home depot Saturday for some hardware, wood and glue.  Found most of what I needed and returned to the boat to finish reassembling the settee I had to dismantle to gain access to the water tank.  I'll finish it tonight.  This will let me get the cabin back in order.

The weather has been windy the last three days.  Cooler too.  It is a classic onshore/offshore breeze cycle typical here.  The sun warms the land, the air rises drawing air in from the ocean.  In the early morning, the pattern reverses with air moving offshore from the land.  I has been windy enough that the harbor has been closed the last three days.

Tomorrow's goal is to mount the radar antenna!

Off to the showers for now.

  1. Wow — with the help from your sister, I get to send a message to my long away son ! Same ole same here, very cold for the end of March. Wish I could send some to you. When do you set sail to Maui? Hope to hear more from you. Anxious for your next news. Love you, mom
